Emerald. Olive. Lime. So many rich, beautiful shades for a color that’s often relegated to St. Patrick’s Day. I do love a cheerful kelly green every March or a traditional hunter green for fall, but there’s so much more dimension to this color, and this is the season to embrace it!
According to InStyle magazine, green is the hottest hue of fall 2014. It looks like runway designers really tapped into the entire spectrum of green this year. Here, I’ve decided to layer muted olive greens with a deep jewel-toned teal.
This blazer is a BCBG Max Azria style in size XXS. I love the sharp lapels and sheen of this fabric. The proportions are great too because it has a cropped waist and ¾-length sleeves, making the fit nice and petite-sized. BCBG Max Azria is one of my go-to brands because they carry lots of XXS-sized styles that are flattering on smaller women.
The dress is from bebe, size XS. Bebe is another one of my favorite petite-friendly brands. They often carry XXS sizes, but they sell fast. If you’re a fan of their body-conscious (tighter-fitting) styles, the fit won’t disappoint. Very stretchy and snug. That’s why I couldn’t resist buying two of these dresses – the one in teal, pictured here, and another in purple.
On my feet, I’m wearing army green platform pumps from Saks Off Fifth’s 5/48 brand:
I love these shoes – the platform boost, the rich color, and stiletto heels. But I have to be honest: as gorgeous as they are, these heels aren’t the most comfortable. And that’s coming from a gal who has a very high threshold for high heel pain. So, I reserve these shoes for sit-down occasions. And I’ll take a seat whenever I can… like in this photo. Haha!
